Santo Studio Jiu-Jitsu Division is a collective under the Santo Studio umbrella that consists of focused products and a roster of world class Jiu-Jitsu athletes. With our expertise in design, marketing, sales, apparel development, and sourcing globally, we will forge a namaste in Jiu Jitsu.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu legend, Leo Vieira is making sure the centuries old martial art form is adapting to the modern world. Considered one of the top Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitors of all time, Leo has played an important role in shaping the future of the sport and now he brings his black belt expertise to Santo Studio.
Under the guidance of Leo and his Checkmat team, Santo Studio’s Jiu-jitsu division is set to create a one of a kind contemporary studio to support and modernize the sport by incorporating other subcultures outside of Jiu-Jitsu.
After decades of being a world champion Leo found his way to becoming a world class coach. He co-founded Checkmat in 2008 with his brothers and it quickly went from a small academy of top competitors to a full fledged Jiu Jitsu affiliation.
Leo is responsible for developing athletes such as Marcus Almeida ‘Buchecha’, Lucas Leite, João Assis, and many others. He already knows how to build a successful team at Checkmat and he foresees the integration with Santo Studio being smooth.
